A retailer takes products from manufacturers and then supplies it to consumers. Some people prefer to run their retail store and other hire professional retail managers for this task. There are number of duties retail managers perform. One of their basic duties is to hire appropriate junior staff that deals with selling and purchasing of products. It is also included in the duty of a retail store manager to provide training to its worker and assign them tasks on daily basis. A retail manager has to keep a record of all items present in the shop. He must know about their prices and codes, it can be further systemized by introducing price tag system on all products. Another way to make it more organize is to use bar code scanning for each product. A retailer also handles the cash department and keeps a record of products sold and cash received. It is his duty to check he quantity of products and order for more if anything is about to finish. A retail manager needs to ask customer for what they are looking for and then guide them to the appropriate counter. These people also keep a close eye on customers so that shoplifting can be avoided.
